Rob Carleson
Raised in Skwentna, Alaska, Rob Carleson has been a builder in Anchorage since 1977. Building mostly custom homes on the Hillside under the name Carleson Construction. Rob spent some time out of state in the late 1980’s, still building and still under the name Carleson Construction. At the time, the Carleson’s had 5 young boys and found themselves building mostly custom homes and custom remodel projects. When one of the youngest boys answered the office phone one day, “Carleson DEstruction”, they knew it was time to change the name to something for fitting – Carleson Custom Homes. In 1992, the family happily returned to Anchorage and built some of the first condominiums and multi-unit projects in the “new” Anchorage market. Carleson Custom Homes Inc. built many of the finest condominium associations in town along with most of the upscale rental properties.
With the kids all grown, and 2 of those boys working side by side with their dad, Rob and his wife have 6 grown children (one girl!) and they enjoy the usual Alaskan activities; snow things, fishing things and flying things.
Carleson Custom Homes Inc has downsized its market to just condominiums, apartments and small office buildings and moved it’s operations to the Mat-Su Valley. The name changed slightly as we no longer build custom homes to Carleson Homes and Development Inc.
Over the years, the company has won a variety of awards in the Parade of Homes including 4 Golden Hammer Awards, Best Entry, Best Overall Workmanship, Best Kitchen, Best Layout, Best Master Suite, Best Curb Appeal. Two Golden Spike awards and In 1990 in the Pacific Northwest, Rob received the Master Craftsman Award for the restoration of homes over 100 years old.
Carleson Homes has a product for the first-time homebuyer, empty nester, investor or those looking forward to being investors. We also have rental properties available to rent for those who aren’t quite ready to step into the real estate market yet.
